Multiple charging stations in a single network (WLAN/LAN), but various DLM networks: Spelsberg

Multiple charging stations in a single network (WLAN/LAN), but various DLM networks

Various DLM networks can also be set up, which are located in the same data network. This is useful, for example, if only certain charging stations are to communicate with a common backend. The charging stations communicate with each other within their DLM network, with or without cable via Ethernet or WLAN respectively. The LAN or WLAN is identical for all DLM networks.

Parameter configuration

Setting up of dynamic load management (DLM) requires all charging stations to be in the same network or to form one of their own. For each charging group one charging point is also selected as DLM coordinator.

For configuration open the app and go to System - Settings. Open "Advanced settings" and display "Expert settings". Now select "Dynamic load management (DLM)".

For each charging group define a charging station as DLM coordinator, to take care of coordination with the assigned DLM charging points. Assign each charging group a DLM network ID, and register this in both the coordinator of the charging group and at the charging points.

The following parameters are relevant:

"Coordinator/charging point DLM role" parameter:

  • It is recommended that in the coordinator wallbox the setting "DLM coordinator (with internal charging points)" is selected and in the charging point "DLM charging point (Auto-Discovery)". In this configuration the DLM coordinator automatically finds all charging points in the same network.

"DLM network ID" parameter:

  • Assign each of the different load groups its own network ID, e.g. charging group 1 = 1, charging group 2 = 2, etc. The ID must be identical in the DLM coordinator and at all DLM charging points. of the respective charging group.

Perform all other settings according to the "Car park with multiple charging stations" use case.
